Thanksgiving 2012

As many of you know Brandon and I travel to Indiana for Thanksgiving every year to spend time with his grandparents that can't travel down here as much anymore. Usually we only go for about 3-4 days but this year we were able to go for a whole week!

It was really nice to get out of town and away from work and spend some time together and with the family and while we were there we got to go somewhere I have been wanting to go since the first time I ever went to Indiana with Brandon, SANTA CLAUS, INDIANA!!!!!

So for my close friends you know I am a Christmas fanatic and this was just the little town to visit on our trip because everything was Christmas themed! Our first stop was The Santa Claus Christmas Store.
Poor Brandon suffered through around an hour to two hour adventure with me looking at all the ornaments and trees and snow globes and lights (Kid in a candy store comes to mind) and I even got to meet Santa Claus! I know I know even at 24 years old I still get excited to see Santa.

After the Christmas store it was off to see the Historic Santa Statue and Church
As you can see this statue was unveiled on December 22, 1935 and it is massive!!!

I promise you the picture doesn't do it justice!

After we saw the Santa Statue we walked down a little hill to the Church that they had just relocated from down the road.

I believe this church was built in 1880's and it was so beautiful. It still had some of the original fixtures and stained glass windows.

After the church we went down the road a little ways to the Lincoln National Park. Now what some people don't know is that Lincoln spent a lot of his boyhood in Indiana. While at the National park we visited Nancy Hanks, Lincoln's mother's grave site.

It was really neat to see and at the base of her headstone people have come and thrown in pennies I guess to leave a little bit of Lincoln with his mother.

I even managed to sneak in a picture with the hubbs- can't you see how excited he is...

After our excursion to Santa Claus we headed back to Hatfield and had a lovely week eating, visiting and even getting in a golf game and going to the movies with Brandon's cousins. I couldn't have asked for a better week of vacation.

Until next time,
XOXO

Christmas Decorating

Well as most of you know from my previous posts we are venturing out of town to go to Indiana for Thanksgiving with Brandon's grandparents.

One big thing that I wanted to accomplish before we left we getting up our Christmas decorations around the house. Now I'm sure every one reading it looking over at their calendars and saying to themselves.. Really?! It's only November 16th, BUT every year in the Jordan household we would put up our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving so I always like to have it up close to that time as well. However, this year we will be gone to visit for a whole week so I had to put it up before we left so it would be up for our party the very next weekend for Brandon's birthday.

So I thought since I put it up I would help everyone get into the Christmas spirit and post a picture of our beautiful tree :)

I hope this helps you get into the Holiday spirit :)

Until Next Time,
Jenn

Imitation is the Highest Form of Flattery

Ok so every time I write a post I try to seem witty, smart and  most of all like our life is super interesting. However, for those of you readers who know both Brandon and myself know that we are in fact not very interesting but run around doing random things most of the time.

So thank you to my lovely friend Kristin for the new inspiration I going to incorporate into some "Tidbits" as she calls it into this blog as to cliff note our daily actions and interests.

So this week we leave for Indiana (WHOO HOO!!) and we both cannot wait. We always go up for Thanksgiving however last year we both started new jobs and did not have any PTO to take a nice long vacation but this year we do so we are going for a whole week!!! Which will be the longest we have ever been 1) away from our house and our dogs :( and 2) in Indiana with the family which we are very excited about!! So this week has been very crazy.

Sunday/Monday- I washed all of the clothes AND packed like a crazy person as my husband likes to call me when I get super OCD and wants things done a week early.

Tuesday- I got to go see my FAVORITE hairista Brittany and we got a little crazy with the hair this week and did sort of a reverse ombre' where instead of going from dark to light we did from light to dark and I'm still getting used to it to be honest because I have been majority blonde for such a longer time I still get a little nervous with all the dark but it is growing on me :)

Wednesday- We went around our neighborhood looking for fire wood (enter enthusiasm here) and then we went to walmart for a few last minute trip things then husband took me to dinner at Gringos for a farewell meal as he called it and the biggest highlight of my week was getting to put up my Christmas tree!!  I know it seems really early but since we will be gone for a whole week and the week we get back we are having Brandons birthday party I wanted to get it up and decorated so when we get home it will that much closer to Christmas and my house will be ready :)

Now tonight we pack up Brandon and start getting things finalized around the house and loading up the truck! Only two more days to go and I can't wait!!

xoxo

Bachelorette Parties and Beach Houses

Well as most of you know, Brandon and I are ALWAYS and I do mean always super busy on the weekends. With our extensive friends and family (which we are thankful for) we always have fun activities to partake in and I wanted to share a few pictures from a few pictures that have finally made their way to my email :)

Over the summer I was able to go to my best friend Bri's aunt Bachelorette weekend and we had so much fun dancing, drinking and teaching some of the ladies some drinking games..
Pool Side
Breakfast before heading out for the day
Lingerie Games!!
Teaching the "team" some drinking games :)

Needless to say I think we all learned some things that weekend and cannot wait to do it again!!

XOXO
